Jay & Severenth Part Ways...................

'It is with deep regret that I announce my departure from Severenth effective 05/02/2010. I formed this band in 2006 and for the last 4 years I have lived and breathed Severenth with four of the best musicians and friends anyone could ask for, we’ve played some awesome shows (with some amazing bands), recorded some killer songs, met some very cool people and generally had a blast playing the music we wanted to how we wanted to. The last few months however have been difficult for me. It became apparent that the direction the band was heading in (career wise not musically) differed from the way I wanted it to progress and that our goals and expectations are not the same. Severenth have been offered an opportunity which I do not feel is right for either the band or myself at this time. Unfortunately (for me) the rest of the band feel that this opportunity is the way forward and have decided to sign a contract with a new management company. I was asked to sign the contract by the rest of the band but as I don’t feel it is right I have declined and the band have decided they will carry on without me. This hasn’t been an easy decision and none of us wanted the situation to be as awkward as this but the other four members feel they have made the right decision for themselves and as a friend I cannot stand in their way. Finally, I would like to make it known that my decision not to sign the contract was not a question of my dedication to the band or due to a lack of family support, I have always been one of the driving forces behind the band and I have always received strong support from my family and friends.
